I am an avid collector of all things related to composer E. T. Paull.
My interest in musical boxes stems from the Regina Music Box Co. having
licensed music from E. T. Paull: "Ben Hur Chariot Race", composed and
copyrighted by E. T. Paull, 1894, issued on Regina tune sheet #1409.
My search for images and detailed information about Regina tune sheets
(discs) has been unsuccessful and I am hoping that MMDigest readers
might help.
Background:
1. I have found four designs of Regina Music Box Co. 15-1/2-inch "tune
sheets." In my photos each is identified by a letter ("A" thru "D").
1.a. Sheets A and C appear to be _steel_ (evidenced by surface rust or
oxidation). They have graphics and text mirrored on both sides.
1.b. Sheet B appears to be _zinc_, with oxidation-like dull gray
colored surface. It has graphics and text mirrored on both sides.
1.c. Sheet D appears to be what is referred to a _copper-clad steel_
(copper plated?).
2. Sheets B and C are #1409 ("Ben Hur Chariot Race" -- Paull).
Questions:
1. How many more design varieties exist?
2. What information can be deduced from the designs, such as dates, etc.?
3. What other variations in material exist?
4. What other design and/or material composition variations exist for
sheet #1409, "Ben Hur Chariot Race"?
In addition to PDF files I also maintain high-resolution image files.
If anyone has one or more different and unique examples of tune sheets
they may be willing to loan for photographing, please contact me at
