While in the process of digitizing all films, tapes, audio and slides
that exist in AMICA's archives, I thought I'd share one with the MMD
as an enticement for you to become a member to access the rest of this
rich area of video history.
This is a 45-minute sound super-8 movies from the 1977 San Francisco
Convention showing the piano playing of Robert Armbruster, Ruth Smith,
Ursula Hollingshead, Flora Mora and Eubie Blake (who both plays and
sings).
On the AMICA site there are also videos showing interviews or piano
playing of Robert Armbruster, Dr. Clarence Hickman, Genevieve Pitot,
Ruth Bingaman Smith, Ursula Dietrich Hollingshead, Flora Mora, Victor
I. Zuck / Gary Sturm, Julius Burger, Matilda Locust Hart, Hi Babit,
Shura Cherkassky, Ernest Schelling's widow, as well as instructional
videos (e.g., Regulating the Duo-Art) done in the 1970-80s. More
are being added slowly every week until all materials are presented.
So as long as you have a DSL connection or better, please enjoy this
complimentary 1977 movie: http://www.amica.org/MMD/Convention-1977.wmv
