Passing of Howard Winstead
By Matthew Caulfield

The June/July 2008 issue of the AMICA Bulletin carries notice of the
death at the age of 90 on March 2, 2008, of Howard Winstead, Warwick,
R.I., marina owner and collector-restorer of Wurlitzer band organs.

Mr. Winstead was at the time of his death an MBSI member and had been
a one-time AMICA member, although he was not very active or well-known
in mechanical music circles.

My limited contacts with Mr. Winstead came from the fact that one of
the Wurlitzer band organs he owned is the Wurlitzer 165 band organ
that once played in the Painesville, Ohio, skating rink owned by
Howard Walton.
