I may have mentioned this last year, but a friend of mine was
recently widowed and her late husband left a fine set of 44 brass
calliope pipes that he never got around to building an instrument
for. I don't know the wind pressure but these are the real deal,
not plastic -- I saw them some years ago. They probably would work
on steam as well as high-pressure air. I believe there is a standard
scale range for a set of 44 pipes, but again I don't know that.
She has asked me to help her sell the pipes. I would appreciate
postings or private email stating what you think she should ask
for the set, and/or what you would be willing to pay for them.
Also, any opinions about just putting them on eBay, but I wanted
folks here to have first crack at them. And then, what reserve price
should she set on them?
I don't yet have her permission to post her phone or address, but the
pipes are located near Chicago.
Thanks for your help.
