Hot Hide Glue Has Little Odor

Hide glue is sold in different qualities.  When you purchase hide
glue and the flakes are different colors (light and dark flakes)
this is a lower quality or low strength glue and will have an odor.

In a good quality high strength glue, the flakes are all one consistent
color (light golden yellow) and it is considered a "three times refined
glue".  It is offered by the Leather Supply House, for example.
