Those thinking of attending the 59th Annual Meeting of the Musical Box
Society International (MBSI) in Las Vegas, August 27-30, should make
room reservations at the Flamingo Las Vegas as soon as possible.  There
are a limited number of rooms at the special MBSI member rate of $99.
Once they are gone room reservations will be taken at the prevailing
rate if available.  We are already close to our room limit on some of
the dates.

A complete schedule of activities can be seen at the Events Calendar of
the MBSI web site, www.mbsi.org.  Registration information has already
been sent to MBSI members.  Members who are logged in will see a direct
link to the Flamingo reservation system.

Because there are so few MBSI members in the Las Vegas area it was
decided to have an auction this year instead of the usual Mart.  More
than 100 items of mechanical music have been consigned from members
across the United States.  Auction items can now be seen at the
Victorian Casino Antiques web site:  www.vcaauctions.com.  To see all
the lots, click on the link below the red banner, "Browse Our Catalog
For Free."  A printed catalog will accompany the next issue of
Mechanical Music which will be mailed to MBSI members in late June.

More than a dozen Southern California collections will be open
for visits on September 1 and some will be open other days during
that week.  Details and sign-up sheets will be available at the
meeting.
