Dear MMDs, A large auction of mechanical music and automatas will
take place in Chartres (1 hour from Paris, France) on Sunday May 25th.
(Two specialized auctions per year since about 30 years...) This
time, about 250 items :
- Many fine automatas by Vichy, Vichy-Triboulet, Decamps, Roullet-Decamps,
Phalibois, Lambert, Renou, Jaf, etc., including the two joking clowns,
a smart lady at her dressing table by Vichy, three monkeys (a conjuror
and two musicians) by Phalibois.
- Several singing birds (snuffboxes, cages, clock)
- Fine cylinder musical boxes, of which a rare one with a singing bird
in a garden
- Six rare Prague musical boxes or movements in good condition,
- Several rare boxes for the Chinese market, some with tune sheet (rare)
- Disc musical boxes
- Barrel pianos, one of them is a very fine and rare Turkish portable one
- A 35-keys organ with drums by Limonaire
- Several organettes, serinette, musical picture-clocks
- Many small musical items (photo albums, tiles, alarm-clocks)
- Related documentation
- Fairground artifacts, several animals by Bayol, Limonaire, Mathieu,
Coquereau et Maréchal, Van Guyse, and arcade machines
- Many phonographs, of which a rare Bussophone.
