I'd like to let everyone know that the COAA (Carousel Organ Association
of America) is sponsoring the first Organ Rally of 2008 on Memorial Day
Weekend, May 24–26, 2008.
Once again, we will return to one of the best family-owned-and-operated
amusement parks in America, Lake Winnepesaukah, which has entertained
guests for over eighty-two years. Located just south of Chattanooga,
Tennessee, Lake Winnie has hosted COAA Rallies in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
The park always welcomes us with open arms and plenty of great southern
hospitality.
For 2008, the organs will play on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Memo-
rial Day).
New for 2008 will be a "Crank Organ Concert," where owners of hand-
cranked organs will gather as a group and play their instruments for
COAA members and park visitors. And of course, we'll have our tradi-
tional Lake Winnie meal and meeting, under the Picnic Shed on Saturday
evening.
There is much to see and do in the Chattanooga area; so you might want
to consider staying for an extra day or two to take in some of the
other area attractions.
The registration deadline for the motel is April 22, to get the COAA
rate. The deadline to register for the Rally is April 30.
If you would like more information about the Lake Winnie Organ Rally or
about membership in the COAA, you can contact Ron or Glynn Keisler by
email (be sure to delete ".geentroep" from our email address).
We hope that you will consider joining us for a great, fun-filled
weekend.
Ron Keisler
