Still Seeking Recordo Drawer Parts
By Jason Klinger

Many weeks ago I submitted a request for Recordo parts and/or informa-
tion, but got no reply. I would like to resubmit my request for those
who may have missed that posting, as I am still in dire need of this
set of missing parts for my player.

I was recently given a wonderful little gem of a Recordo Grand by a
very dear friend of mine. It's a Schaff Brothers 4'8" Simplex Recordo
(#46163) that is in original but very nice hand-playing condition. The
player action does need a full restoration however. But before I can
start on that, there is one integral part missing. I have never seen
another Recordo up close; so I'm not sure of any variations.

The entire player system, minus pump and sustain pneumatic, is com-
pletely contained in the drawer, the stack being at the rear of the
drawer and played, apparently, via a mounted set of motion transfer
levers, up to poppets that push up on the rear of the keys.

At some point in this piano's life, the drawer was removed and stored
separately from the rest of the piano. Along with that, the long
assembly of pivoting or swinging levers was also removed and hence
lost. If this type of mechanism is similar to other Simplex Recordo
drawers, I would hope that they may be either interchangeable or at
least adaptable to work in my situation.

You have the background story, now here's the question. Does anyone
out there recognize the apparatus I'm referring to? If so, could
someone please provide me a picture of this setup, so that I may
recreate it, or even better, given all the orphaned parts out there,
sell me a set of motion-transfer linkages, so that I may get started on
my rebuild? I can furnish photos or measurements to any interested
party for your better understanding of what I have and what I need.

I am located in Southern Florida. Thank you all and please search
those attics and basements.
