I have recently obtained an original QRS Solo Apollo test roll, the
only one I have ever seen. This roll is 15-1/4" wide with 9/inch
perforations. It has repetition tests for tracker bar holes factory
number stamped 1-126 and then a quick up/down the keyboard in a ">"
shaped series of rapid perforations. There are no instructions on the
roll of any kind, nor are there any perforations that would indicate
they are testing any sort of expression mechanism.
This roll appears to pre-date the term "Solo Art Apollo", as the rolls
I have in that format use a different type of paper and have plastic
instead of wooden spool flanges like the ones on this roll.
I recall hearing that AMICA was attempting to scan and archive as
many factory test rolls as they could locate. Although I am no longer
a member, if the person heading up this endeavor would like to add this
obscure format to their library of scans I will make this roll available
to them for that purpose if they contact me or direct me to someone
with the ability to scan a roll of this format.
Thank you,
Troy Taylor
