It seems that patent documents are often sought for mechanical
music, and for a variety of reasons, including simple curiosity.
So I thought that MMD readers might be interested in a large list
of Organette patents, most with links to their corresponding
on-line documents:
http://music.organettes.com/patents/home
I find these quite interesting, and even if you're not interested
in organettes you'll appreciate the evolving technology, which tends
to overlap music boxes, player organs, and player pianos. There are
many common features in mechanical musical instruments. Also included
are the many interesting patents for "mouth-blown" instruments like
the Rolmonica. And some "unusual" designs that were probably never
manufactured.
This is a pretty complete list, based on patent classification and
other references, but I'm sure there are additions needed. So you're
also encouraged to add whatever patent information you might have --
either edit the list yourself, or just email me the information and
I'll take it from there.
Thank you,

P.S. There's a second, less complete page (see the link in the
"Other Patents" section of the page) of patents for keyboard players.
Anybody have this area as a personal interest? It doesn't really
fit on an "organette" web site.
