Piano Roll Artist Hi Babit 90th Birthday
By Marvin Polan

I read with great interest on January 28th Larry Norman's discourse on
roll playing artists. For your information Hi Babit is still alive and
active. He has just celebrated his 90th birthday and is still playing
shows and tuning pianos down in Florida. I know this because he has
visited my home several times and entertained members and friends of
the Lady Liberty Chapter of AMICA. His daughter, who lives in New
Jersey, brings him. The stories he tells are humorous and informative.

He is in the process of obtaining his old rolls that he made for QRS and
Aeolian and producing CD of them. He gave us two CDs as a gift when he
came here and we served him dinner. These CDs are for sale by him.
