Organizing Piano Rolls On Shelves
By Peter Neilson

Tom Hutchinson asks how to organize piano rolls on shelves. I use
two methods simultaneously:

1. Rolls that I play frequently are kept near the piano. There are
only a few hundred of these at the most. Sometimes they are arranged
by title, other times haphazardly, but it's not too much of a problem,
and they're within easy reach. Ampico, Artcraft and other larger boxes
are squeezed in somehow or other. Usually most of the Artcraft rolls
wind up together.

2. The other rolls are kept further away from the piano. These are
arranged (or in some cases are yet to be arranged) by title.

Tom would need at least one additional grouping just for Ampico.
