The project to locate and preserve Busoni's DUCA rolls is progressing
well, but we still have a number of rolls to locate. Specific
information is sought concerning the possible location of all DUCA
rolls recorded by Busoni with Michael von Zadora:
Duca 1153 - Schumann, Bilder aus Osten, Op. 66, No. 1
Duca 1154 - Schumann, Bilder aus Osten, Op. 66, No. 4
Duca 1155 - Schumann, Bilder aus Osten, Op. 66, No. 5
Duca 1156 - Jensen, Hochzeitmusik, Op. 45,
Nos. 1 (Festzug) & 2 (Brautgesang)
Duca 1157 - Jensen, Hochzeitmusik, Op. 45, No. 3: Reigen
Duca 1158 - Jensen, Abendmusik , Op. 59, Nos. 1, 3, & 6
Duca 1159 - Schubert, Divertissement à la Hongroise,
Op. 54, March & Allegretto
Duca 1160 - Schubert, Marche Caractéristique, Op. 121
Information is also sought concerning the location of:
Duca 1137 - Paganini-Liszt, Etude No. 2: Octave study
Duca 1144 - Chopin, Ballade No. 4, Op. 52
Duca 1145 - Beethoven, Piano Sonata, Op. 111, Part I
Duca 1146 - Beethoven, Piano Sonata, Op. 111, Part II
Duca 1151 - Bach-Busoni, Chromatic Fantasy & Fugue: Fantasy
Duca 1152 - Bach-Busoni, Chromatic Fantasy & Fugue: Fugue
The intention of this project is to scan or photograph the rolls
to ensure the information contained on them survives into the future.
This is a joint project with the Reproducing Roll Foundation, Albert
Petrak and Larry Sitsky.
I'd be very appreciative of any information about the possible
whereabouts of any of Busoni DUCA rolls. I'm also trying to locate
someone in Australia with a roll scanner. Any suggestions would be
most welcome!
Many thanks,
