Promoting Mechanical Music
By Bob Gonzales

Regarding the annual West Coast Ragtime Festival held in Sacramento,
Calif., last weekend, AMICA was well represented by John Motto-Ros and
his beautifully restored Pianino. The instrument was placed in the
hotel lobby and was on display and playing Friday through Sunday. John
had a bowl of nickels there, and festival patrons were free to play the
instrument at will. AMICA membership applications were available, and
one new member signed up. The Pianino drew a crowd each time that it
played.
