Converting Recordo to Duo-Art
By D. L. Bullock

I would say, Not possible. The Recordo has only one expression box and
depends upon a split hammer rail to soften the bass or treble when not
prominent in the music. The Recordo is an expression piano, while the
Duo-Art is a reproducing piano.

Also the action of the stack in your Recordo is probably not fast-
acting enough to play Duo Art rolls. The pump probably does not put
out enough pressure to sound like a Duo-Art on loud passages. There is
no stack division, either. The expression box for a Duo-Art is feeding
a treble/bass divided stack. The Recordo stack is not divided, but
uses the split hammer rail for any division.

The only two reproducers that can be reconfigured and changed are Art-
Echo to Ampico. The reason being the ArtEcho was a redesign of Ampico
and works in reverse in many ways to an Ampico. The conversion from
ArtEcho to Ampico has been done successfully by several folks, because
ArtEcho rolls are rare as hens' teeth and are not being recut.
