I think Rodney Diehl will have some difficulty obtaining this
information. PianoDisc trains and certifies all its installers,
and will only supply parts and support to those duly accredited.
Training manuals and the like are therefore limited, and are
certainly not generally available.
Over the years there have been numerous software upgrades, available
on disks supplied to service agents. Again these are not generally
available.
However, if you finally succeed in this installation, one has to
wonder if you are better off. Certainly you will have access to lots
more music than the Ampico, but of what quality?
If it was me, I would have purchased one of Spencer's e-valve kits
and fitted that to the Ampico you have now removed, and taken advantage
of the huge number of e-roll files that are now available. I've been
down both paths, and I keep coming back to the e-rolls for the best
musical satisfaction. My PianoDisc and Disklavier recordings barely
get a look in.
