Morris Museum "Musical Machines & Living Dolls"
By Bill Maguire
AMICA's Lady Liberty Chapter will be visiting the Morris Museum in
Morristown, New Jersey, November 17th. The highlight at the Morris
Museum is Murtogh Guinness's collection. Marvin Polan will be the
docent (tour guide) for that day. We have an appointment there at
2 p.m. If the members wish to come to the museum earlier they can.
The museum opens at 1 p.m.
We were invited to the home and collection of John Dousmanis for a
real Thanksgiving dinner. John has much to see at his home as well.
You must call John Dousmanis no later than Wednesday, Nov. 14th,
to let him know you will be there. Tel. 1-646-638-2201 or email
<jdousmanis@msn.com>
We currently have several invitations and potential meeting places.
'Automatic instrument wise' there is so much to see and do in the Lady
Liberty Chapter's area. We have several invitations from some great
people to see some very nice private collections. If you live in our
chapter area and you want to be on our mailing list, call or email
Richard Karlsson <rickarlss@aol.com>.
Even better yet, join up! Contact Keith Bigger <kbigger@yahoo.com> for
a membership form. Membership costs $10 per year. All chapter members
must also belong to AMICA International. AMICA International provides
many additional benefits and they do great things for automatic musical
instruments. http://www.amica.org/
