Andy Taylor laments that the younger generation is engrossed in the
world of video games and iPods, to the neglect of the "finer arts."
But who is writing those video games? Not too many of the authors are
over thirty, I'd guess. I would also point out that the younger gener-
ation is producing some great animated work, even if their music is
crap. Just having a computer does not make creation of these things
fast or easy.
It has always been the case that we elders sometimes get a bit carried
away in our criticism of the young. True, some of them are lazy bums,
but I think there were a few in my sixth grade class as well.
Each generation has a different set of skills, strengths, and weak-
nesses.
