I have just finished watching the film 'The Girl on the Boat'. A couple
of lines of the dialogue unexpectedly caught my attention:
"As soon as my back is turned you start playing that darn player piano,"
gaining the reply, "It's not a player piano, it's an orchestrion and it
is here to be played."
As it is irrelevant to the plot as to what the item under discussion
is called, it struck me as curiously precise by the writers. Even if
the machine itself was probably a studio mock-up, at least there was
percussion playing along, and in time, with the pipes!
