Mystery Barrel Organ, Part 2
By Dale Dohler
We seem to have a tentative identification of our barrel organ, at
least going by the scraps of newspaper glued inside. They have been
identified as Danish. I hope that Robbie will post the pictures when
he returns, for those of you who are curious.
[Robbie is due to be back in the driver's seat with tomorrow's MMD.

Assuming that the organ is Danish (or even Norwegian), was it the
Danish/Norwegian practice to use the letter "H" for the note that is
one whole step above "A"? The pipes in the bottom rank of this organ
are each penciled with their pitch, and the "H" is used. I know that
this is common in Germany today, but was/is that practice more wide-
spread, and would it give a clue to our organ's origin?
