Source of New Slotted Wood Screws
By Craig Smith
Jason Balcom cannot find a seller of new slotted wood screws. He
should try McMaster-Carr at http://www.mcmaster.com/ They have a
bazillion screws and other things of interest, and they offer great
shipping. I heartily recommend them.
Another approach is to de-rust the ones you have. Get a bottle of
Evapo-Rust at AutoZone and soak them overnight. Scrub them off in the
morning and you're good to go. If you want them shinier, rub them on
320/400/600 SC paper and then buff to a nice shine.

P.S. Jason writes, "I am willing to do business with any technician
able to sell me a few of his loose screws." This is just too tempting
to pass up. *G* I'm sure that you can find a piano technician who is
willing to sell you a few of his loose screws. Most of them have a few
loose screws after years of fixing player pianos and sniffing hide
glue.
