Pinning a New Barrel for a Crank Organ
By Craig Smith

Hello Trudy, I read in MMD this morning that you have a barrel organ
project that needs finishing. A couple of friends and I have restored
many of these machines and even built a few from scratch. While
pinning the barrel is quite a project, it is possible to do it.

Before getting into any particulars, it would be helpful if you could
tell me some details about the organ and, better yet, send me some
pictures of the insides and the outside of the machine (including the
bottom). If you have a record of the tuning scale and the pipe
arrangement, that would save some time also.

Regards,
Craig Smith
