Hi all -- Trudy Haley from California sent me the following
email. I think it would be better if someone from her vicinity (say,
California) tried to help her (and maybe taking a look at that organ
would clear up a few things...), therefore with her consent I forward
this to the MMD.
I would gladly write an arrangement (if I knew the scale, etc.),
but helping with pinning a barrel on the other side of the world is
somewhat hard! Please reply to her directly because she is not
reading the MMD.
Best regards

Betreff: crank organ
Hi. I have a crank organ which my father made from an original street
vendor crank organ purchased in Germany. My father took the original
apart and made an exact replica. He died before he could finish it.
The organ plays about seven songs.
The crank organ is completely put together. What is missing are the
teeth or prongs which go on the barrel to allow it to play songs when
you crank it.
I am looking for someone who could put at least one song on the barrel,
_or_ I am looking for instructions as to how to do it. Do you have any
suggestions?
I found your web site and am wondering how the paper guides [templates]
work. Would I purchase this paper guide from you, then tape it to the
barrel and then put in the prongs which indicate the notes?
Thank you
