Unique Player Action
By Steve Bentley

I am disposing of a player action. Years ago 1982, I took it home as
I just could not see it going to the city dump. However, I am now
disposing of a few items, and this one is finally going to the dump.

There is no maker's name anywhere on the spool frame or valve chest,
etc. It has the pneumatic system whereby they are individually screwed
to the chest by two screws. The pneumatic has a block of wood 1-1/2"
by 1/2" attached where the screws pass through. Why weren't all the
actions made this way? So easy!

The tubing to the spool frame is lead. It appears that it has never
been repaired, the pneumatic I removed was still air tight(!) and the
pouches are still supple, amazing as it has been in my loft since
1982, freezing cold in winter and almost 120 degrees F. in the summer.

Can anyone tell me the name of this player action? Simplex, I believe,
was like this, although I was told they always had their name plate
showing.
