Marenghi Organ Stolen
By Adam G. Ramet

There's a lot of flurry on the IMOD forum about this but no-one seems
to have yet posted news about this on MMD! One of the most well-known
and regularly rallied Marenghi organs in the UK has been stolen. "Lady
Hamilton" was stolen Friday 29th June when the van (a Bedford van) was
taken, possibly by thieves more interested in breaking up the van for
valuable spare parts than the organ.

The organ has little monetary value on the open market and is therefore
clearly at real risk of never being seen again. The owner and family
are apparently quite distraught about all this. If anyone knows anything
or can provide a lead (all in the strictest confidence, of course) the
safe return of the organ is the important thing so please get in touch
via the MMD or the IMOD forum. If the right people come forward I'm
sure this might all be resolved amicably.

The discussion thread (with a picture of the stolen van exterior also)
is at http://organ.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=885 and another
picture of the instrument is at http://www.themodist.com/gd31.htm

Regards
Adam Ramet
