Limit of Liability When Customer Can't Be Found
By Jeff Bridges

Hi all. I am getting in on the thread about abandoned items. When
I owned a computer repair shop, it stated on a very large board that
anything left after 30 days becomes store property and will be sold to
recover costs of the repair.

I did have a customer come to the store on the 31st day and ask for the
computer. I said to her that she had left it here for over 30 days and
it became the store property. She balked and yelled at me and I said
to her that if she wanted it back she would have to pay for the repair
plus a 35 dollar storage fee. Needless to say, she paid what she owed
plus the 35 bucks. Of course she never came back to the store, but
I didn't care; she was very rude and inconsiderate to the fact of store
policies.

So as to the pianos left for eight to ten years, they're yours to keep
and do what you want with them. You may have lost a lot of money from
rebuilding them but you might be able to sell them for just what you
put into them for repair. Good luck.

Also, I have a customer that is seeking a player piano in Massachusetts
area, either free or free <lol>! He's not looking to put to much in
for repairs but as long as the player stack is okay he is willing to
take it. Let me know, people, and send pictures of the piano. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Jeff Bridges <jeff.bridges@verizon.net>
