Limit of Liability When Customer Can't Be Found
By Randy Hammond
This will be an interesting discussion. I have two phonographs sitting
here right now that have this same problem. Both have been here for
several years and neither of them are "jewels." I contacted the owner
several years ago when the upright was done. They were supposed to
come and get it (they have since moved) and it still sits in the
workshop. This one was not worth the parts that went into it and if
you know phonographs, it still isn't. I have another one which I also
consider abandoned due to an unavailability of parts issue versus value
which the customer was supposed to pick up and has not. In both of
these cases, there was no money down. I really would like to get rid
of both. They are taking space. I think that there is a process but
I am not sure what it is. Both of these are low value items.
