Sheet Music to MIDI Conversion
By Wallace Venable

Julian Dyer said, "I've had a go with this type of software and it's
a poison chalice. You probably want to use it if your music-reading's
poor and you feel that the machine's going to do it quicker. Maybe it
will, but then you can't correct the inevitable errors!"

The Photoscore MIDI Light package produces both a MIDI file and an
on-screen score. You can edit on the score, so you do not rely on your
ear. I have no musical keyboard skill, but I can read and edit.

Yes, it makes errors, and the quality MIDI file I get may (or may not)
be poor, but it is better than I can get any other way.
