Seek Miniature Brass Extension Springs
By Thomas Chatterton

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Does anyone know of a specialist supplier of miniature brass springs?
Return springs of brass, rather than steel, are usually found in the
internal mechanisms of 19th century automata. The brass is more
malleable than steel, but as a result it's more fragile and liable to
losing its flexibility after 100 years or more. They are often as
small as 1 mm diameter. Any help would be appreciated.
