Hello Ethan, I don't know if this helps but I have a early Ampico
Chickering that has a passage repeat function built in at the factory.
There are two screw knobs on the right that move in slots as the piano
plays.
You screw down one of the knobs anywhere during playing and the roll
will stop at that point and rewind to any previous point that you have
selected to start the repeated passage. Thus, when the two screw knobs
are fixed, the roll will continue repeating the passage until you stop
the player.
I assume this was intended for singing or violin students, etc., that
couldn't afford an accompanist. I have not tried this with a complete
roll but I see no reason for it not to work. Of course, you do get
a rewind delay each time it repeats.
