Hi all, Mr. Kim Bunker here from playerpianos.com I used to use
those old-fashioned varnish transfer decals up until 1990. We decided
to change to Decals Unlimited because when applying the varnish type
invariably you always had to buy at least two in order do your work
efficiently.
The new type (dry transfer) are a breeze and take two minutes to apply
When you're finished it looks like it was done at the factory and it
only needs to be done once.
Go and checkout the on-line catalog at www.decalsunlimited.com -- you
won't be sorry. They are about $10.00 higher then the varnish transfer
type but they're ten times more efficient. Since we have been in
business we've restored about 3,000 pianos, players, nickelodeons,
orchestrions and band organs, not to mention countless music boxes,
automata, etc.
When we receive an instrument for restoration, if the decal is not
available we photograph it and give the dimensions and have it
duplicated by these people. Their on-line catalog shows their current
inventory. You'll be very surprised as to the amount of names they
have on file, actually many more then the varnish transfer type.
Thanks for now and happy decal-ling!
Kim Bunker
