I am putting the finishing touches on an article for "Mechanical
Music," journal of the Musical Box Society International. It will
be a detailed coverage of the Yale Wonder Clock, its successor the
Automatic Cashier and Discount Machine, and the peripherally related
Star Trade Register. All three of these units incorporate a Regina
music box and all three were made in Vermont in the first decade of
the 20th century.
If any reader of this has not been in communication with me and
knows of any existing examples of the above, I would be grateful for
information and can include it if received by tomorrow evening, March
26th. Need this basic info:
1. Type of machine.
2. Information on metal plate on front (if a Yale Wonder Clock),
or serial number on a label.
3. Serial number on bedplate of music box.
4. Denomination, metal (usually but not always aluminum), diameter in
10ths of a millimeter of any metal tokens dispensed by the machine;
these also have the machine number stamped on them.
5. Any information as to original location or background.
Thanks to those who have already contributed, and thanks in advance to
anyone with new information.
Best wishes,
Dave Bowers
