I have recently bought a Regina Sublima Piano and would like some
design information from anyone familiar with this machine. My
piano still has its original motor so I will be operating it through
a step-down transformer but the motor will rotate at 5/6 of its correct
speed due to the frequency difference between USA and GB mains (230v
50 Hz vs. 110v 60 Hz).
To compensate for this I will increase the diameter of the motor pulley
by 6/5. I do not want to compensate by utilising the cone pulley speed
control as this will result in my not being able to vary the speed over
the original design speed range. It will be biased, with inadequate
speed increase capability.
Before I make my new pulley I would like confirmation of the correct
original size of the motor pulley. Could an owner please measure the
diameter of the motor pulley on their instrument? For clarity, please
can you supply the outside diameter and also the pitch diameter of the
belt as it passes round the V in the pulley. I can then confirm whether
my instrument still has the original pulley, or some other, and hence
determine the correct size for the new pulley.
Secondly, does anyone know where I can buy new rolls? I am informed
that Dick Hack no longer cuts these but someone may have some spares.
I would prefer new, unplayed rolls if possible.
Many thanks, Nicholas Simons. GB
