Hot Hide Glue Headache
By Jim Gillies

Hello everybody, On the subject of hot hide glue, I was just wondering
if anyone else who has used the glue has noticed that after they have
had a dull headache from what I can only assume is caused by the smell.

In the beginning I wasn't sure, but every time I have used it for an
hour or more I have suffered from this strange headache. I started
using a small fan to blow the fumes away and have found this to work.
If I neglect to use it then, sure enough, I get this headache.

I thought I would bring this up and see if anyone else has suffered
similarly after using this glue (thirty years experience reconditioning
players and pianos).

Regards, Jim Gillies
