Calliope and Mispronouncing Names
By Bob Hodge

Ref. "calliope" in 070226 MMDigest, Source of Brass Tubing for
Calliope Pipes, and name mispronunciations.

As a child I once lived next to a railroad track which was a freight
line. There were cars which had the name of "Phoebe Snow" on them.
I would laugh myself silly pronouncing the name fee-bee as foeb.
I still find it humorous. Apologies to anyone on the list named Phoebe.
