As many of you know I've been pursuing the concept of a public wiki as
a repository for information relating to mechanical music, and the site
is ready to be unveiled:
http://MechanicalMusic.info/
As you'd expect with a new site based on public contribution, it's
virtually empty at this point, waiting on _you_ to add the information
that others will enjoy. I've set up a basic menu, general pages, and
created templates to help with consistency, but that's about it.
_Please_ log in and share! Go ahead and add begin with even partial
information -- others will add to it! And ask questions if you're
uncomfortable about something: there's a discussion page at
http://wiki.mechanicalmusic.info/general/discussion/home and a new
email address for problems or questions: todd@mechanicalmusic.info
P.S. The site adopts a license which assures that the information may
be freely used by the public. If you care about such things, see the
"About" page on the site, and/or ask me about any questions you might
have.
P.P.S. Behind the scenes, I've taken care to implement security and
regular backups, and it's on a host which should handle the traffic
with no problem. If you have technical or other questions please
contact me -- I won't bore everyone with the details here. The web
site address is quite forgiving, and although it can be accessed via
www.MechanicalMusic.info or wiki.MechanicalMusic.info, the simplistic
and more easily remembered "MechanicalMusic.info" will be the
publicized address.
Thank you,
