The "Streetscapes" column in today's (2/4/07) New York Times Real
Estate section, page 2, has a piece on Scott Joplin entitled
"Tracing Scott Joplin's Life Through His Addresses". It mentions
a Wanamaker advert for a Maple Leaf piano roll.

For those in the New York area: Scott Joplin's opera Treemonisha
will be performed at York College on February 9 through the 11th. The
production is staged by the Presbyterian Church of St. Albans (tel.
1-718-528-2495), an African-American church. I've seen two rehearsals
and was very favorably impressed with all aspects of the production.
The performance will be at the York College Performing Arts Center,
94-45 Guy Brewer Blvd., Jamaica, NY. The time on February 9 and 10 is
8 PM; on February 11, 3 PM. Tickets are $20; $15 for students and
seniors. Box office number is 718-262-2840; Information 718-262-3750.
