Hi All. Thanks to John Tuttle for making many of Craig Brougher's
postings available at http://www.player-care.com/cb/ These are
a must-read for anyone who would aspire to become a master in this
field. I, too, was a prideful guy that thought I had figured it out,
but as I have become a bit older I now realize that Mr. Brougher's
advice and technique works every time I have ever tried it. Mr.
Brougher has taken me to task many times but, looking back, it was
nothing I didn't deserve. Any good teacher will chastise, just read
the articles and learn something!
Regardless of what some may think about the man personally, the
fact remains he is one of the best of the best of the old craftsmen,
sadly a dying breed in today's society, no doubt taking countless hours
to write these pro-bono. I would challenge anyone here to find any
written articles with that kind of track record.
There is not a piece of a player I haven't done wrong in the past,
and then have paid dearly for the mistakes, and attempts to short-cut
using proper glues. These things worked for years, and I go on record
stating simply this: Any time you try to save fifteen minutes, it will
cost you three hours.
