Hi All, No, I'm not going to add anything to this thread. My
mind was made up many years ago, and I'm in the "masochist" camp.
However, Craig Brougher has just finished a fact-filled article
that I am bringing to your attention. The article is located at
http://www.player-care.com/gluing-versus-gooing.html
Humorously titled (you guessed it) "Gluing Versus Gooing", Craig
takes the reader on a step by step analysis of both RTV and hide glue,
down to, at times, the microscopic, macroscopic, and molecular level.
He also explores a few areas about the topic which have not been
mentioned in any of the MMDigest postings. However, as you will no
doubt note, there is very little humor in the article. He truly wants
people to understand the significant differences between the two
products when it comes to attaching striker pneumatics to deck boards.
Regardless of which 'camp' you belong to, you owe it to yourself to
read "Gluing Versus Gooing" by Craig Brougher.
Musically,
John A Tuttle
