Aren't all piano rolls hand-pleated sooner or later, particularly
after a couple of playings on a Victrola?
There are reasons why humans don't live forever, and as I get older,
I begin to believe that one of the reasons is to spare us the pain of
seeing our world as we know it going to hell. It really troubles me
to see from postings to the Internet how little regard for language
people have and how poorly they master elementary skills like spelling.
Do a search on eBay for "jutebox" and you will see what I mean.
The poster of the piano-roll offer on eBay must be talking about
"hand-played" rolls, but the question is, Was that a mere typo or did
the poster really think that the roll labels say "hand-pleated"?

[ I used the Microsoft spelling checker to test "hand playted".
[ The suggested corrections are "hand plaited" and "hand pleated"!
[ We laughed and laughed when Dan Wilson's spell checker changed
[ "pizzazz" into "pizza", in 970317 MMDigest:
