When I rebuild a piano, which typically includes installing a new pin
block, I write on the pin block when and where I replaced it and
sometimes a funny little quote or whatever. No one will ever see it
until the plate is removed again in 75-100 years. My legacy will live
on long after I'm gone! I've thought about maybe folding half of the
front page of the current news paper in there; it would be fun for them
to discover that.
