Just yesterday I got a forward of that music animation from the lady
who directs our church choir and Celtic traditional music band. She
was almost considering a trip to Iowa to see it! She was sad to hear
that no farm equipment had been sacrificed in the making of this video.
I told her I had seen most of the DVD at a COAA Organ Rally a couple
years ago, when a member brought it into the motel bar and played it.
We were spellbound! No mechanical music lover should go without seeing
these wonderful animations.
Anyway, her forward and Mark Kinsler's posting reminded me to finally
visit the Animusic web site and order the DVD -- and their second one
too, which features a tremendous pipe organ with "en chamade" trumpets.
The music is upbeat smooth jazz style, quite listenable, and perfectly
coordinated with the screen actions of plucking, striking, blowing, etc.
Do check out the site in Mark's posting, and decide for yourselves.
I have no connection with Animusic, other than this reminds me of
fantasies of mechanical music I had as a boy, listening to Ravel's
"Bolero".
