Hi Folks, As some of you already know, we purchased the 80-keyless
Bruder Fairground Organ from the Mike Kitner estate when he died
several years ago. Mike had carefully pieced together four large
boxes of tattered original book music which he planned to recut.
We had the music recut in Europe after we acquired the organ.
Many of you are familiar with this organ from an MBSI article written
by Mike before his untimely death. Since this is one of four "not for
sale" organs in his private collection, Mike undoubtedly played it for
you when you visited his shop in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
At the retired age of 71, all of the 375 items in our private collection
are for sale at today's "fair market values". Ten pieces, including
the 80-keyless Bruder, have now found new homes.
There were actually two restorers of this one-of-only-two instrument.
I have been asked by the widow of the restorer before Mike, to keep
readers posted on this wonderful fairground organ. It is headed to
Florida as it leaves our private collection in Delaware.
With regards to all,
Rick and Betty Cooley
