Greetings from Coney Island USA
By Todd Robbins

Coney Island USA will be hosting the second annual band organ rally on
Sunday, April 1st, 2007, from noon to 6 p.m. The event will be on West
12th St. between Surf Ave. and the boardwalk. The rally will be held
in conjunction with the Lady Liberty Chapter of AMICA. We welcome all
that would like to attend, either as participants with instruments or
as spectators there just to have fun. The event is free of charge.
Information will be posted at http://www.coneyisland.com/ or you can
contact me directly at <coneyislandtodd@aol.com>.

Coney Island USA wants the annual band organ rally to be part of
a music program that will feature a number of different events. As
part of this, I am organizing a new group called the Hot Piano Society
of New York. This group will meet on the first Saturday of every month
starting April 7th 2007. We will run it like the old Maple Leaf Club
meetings, making it an informal gathering of players and music lovers.
We would like to have these meetings in our Coney Island Museum, but
the museum currently does not have a piano.

We would greatly appreciate the donation of a player piano to the
museum. Coney Island USA is a not-for-profit organization, so
the donation would be fully tax deductible. We will take care
of transporting the instrument to Coney Island.

If anyone has an instrument they would like to donate (or even loan for
an extended period of time) please contact me at <coneyislandtodd@aol.com>
or give me a call at 1-212-664-0456. Your player piano will take it's
place along with our collection of more than 6,000 Coney Island related
items. We will be put to good use, and it will bring great songs like
"Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland" back to Coney Island. Thanks.
