Band Organ Is Too Loud
By Bruce Clark

No, the band organ is not too loud, it is only ignorant people
wanting to talk over the top of the music, to be heard, and to be
the center of attention. Ignore them, or tell them if they do not
like it, to go somewhere where they will not hear it.

No matter where you are, or what you are playing, there will be
complaints. My foster mother was a church organist. There were
complaints about her playing too loud, or, people did not like the
selections. This was balanced by compliments, and served to
illustrate that no matter how hard you try, you cannot please
everyone.

Many people today are not accustomed to live music. Most of their
lives they have been listening to compressed and distorted music
at adjustable volume, coming through small and inadequate speakers.
Consequently, they think all music should have this sound, and are
annoyed if it is louder.
