Scale of Tanzbaer 16-note Player Accordion
By Nicholas Simons

The scale is as follows: C F G A C D E F G A B-flat B C D E F

You can, of course, transpose either way, but this scale was taken
from my own instrument and represents the pitch found.

The card roll is 65 mm wide with a 3.6 mm pitch between adjacent
notes and a 5.5 mm margin to the first note. The speed is typically
27 mm per second. The card used should be around 0.009 inches thick
(0.23 mm) which permits a maximum roll length of 3.5m. Please excuse
the mixture of units but metric is best used since this is a German
machine, although most people still prefer 'thou' for paper
thicknesses.

I find that 120 gsm manila is the correct thickness and when punched
should be shellacked and left open for a week to thoroughly dry before
rolling onto the spool. Some of my recut roll are 15 years old and
still going strong.

This, and many other scales for small instruments, may be found in
Kevin McElhone's 'The Organette Book'.

Best regards, Nicholas Simons
