Seek Aeolian Pianola or Duo-Art Player Mechanism
By Niels Berkers

Hi All, Yesterday I was contacted by a man who owns a gutted Steck
Duo-Art. He wants it to be a player piano again and asked for my help.

I know it's a long shot, but do any of you happen to have a mechanism
of an Aeolian Pianola or Duo-Art lying around?

I don't know if it originally was a pedal/electric Duo-Art; I hope
to tell more about it when he replies. I guess a Duo-Art mechanism
might be harder to find than a Pianola mechanism, which might also fit.
Then, how much chance is there that a mechanism from another Steck
Pianola fits this piano? (When it's below zero I stop searching right
away. <hahaha>)

He says the piano is in great shape, so it might be worth re-installing
a mechanism. Preferably a mechanism somewhere in Europe (UK?) as I'm
in the Netherlands. Otherwise shipping could be very expensive.
When in Europe I could accompany this man to have a look.

I expect no useful replies -- that way it can only turn out good. ;-)

Hoping to help a desperate Steck Duo-Art.

Niels Berkers

P.S.: Was the label 'Duo-Art' also used on pedal-only Duo-Arts?
