Hi Group, My candidate for improvisation on classical music rolls
is Fantasie Impromptu Op. 66, C Sharp Minor, Chopin. The first Ampico
roll is 52486-H played by Adriano Ariani. I believe this is what
would be considered the standard performance of this piece.
The second Ampico roll is 60753-H played by Germaine Schnitzer.
Germaine takes great liberties with the score almost from the first
note. When I played the two rolls for an organist friend he commented
that Germaine's version was not Fantasie Impromptu. It is very
different but I find it interesting listening.
