Vic Searle, requested a source for the sheet music for a march called
"Over the Top," probably composed by Geoffrey O'Hara, as arranged for
military concert band.
That selection is available, on loan, from the Chatfield Brass Band's
Lending Library, in Minnesota. Their website indicates that they have
most of the instrument parts available.
I am a frequent borrower of band music for use in concert bands here in
the Dallas area. Most of their material is out of print, having been
donated to them by other community bands which no longer need it in
their libraries.
The library is operated by volunteers. There are thousands of titles
listed. There is a small handling and shipping fee, probably about $15
for members, and there is an annual dues fee of about $10 for
individuals. Normal lending time is two months, I believe. We simply
order one copy of each part and make photocopies, since most of the
items are in the public domain by now.
You can search their library:
http://www.chatfieldband.lib.mn.us/Music/default.htm
but the search engine is a bit cantankerous. Your best bet is to enter
words (title, composer, arranger, etc.) into the "key words" field, not
into the title, composer, arranger fields.
They prefer that you place your order/inquiries via email.
